Snack therapy

Like his daddy, Isaac is rarely happy when he wakes up. Mornings generally aren't a problem because it's still dark out, but after his nap it usually takes him a good 10 to 15 minutes to fully acclimate himself to the bright and busy playroom. In the meantime, he is either pretty out of it or just plain fussy.

A few days ago, after trying—and failing—to get a grumpy, post-nap Isaac to accept his Munchie mug of snacks, I decided to just hold him until he got used to being awake. As I sat on the floor rocking him, Dahlia approached us, dug into her own Munchie mug, and stretched out her arm to offer her brother a goldfish cracker. To my surprise, he accepted—and then he accepted again. A half-dozen crackers later, Isaac was ready to play!

I was struck both by Dahlia's thoughtfulness and by Isaac's humble acceptance of her offer to help. (We all need to be more like both of them, don't we?) Yesterday Lucy decided to get involved, too, and Isaac had both sisters coddling him after his nap. Looks like this boy's got it made!

Awwww, so sweet! Isn't it so heart-warming to see how they take care of each other?

I just love watching their relationships build and build; they are so incredibly precious!

That is priceless! Isaac certainly got the girls wrapped around his little finger, didn't he?

I love the sibling love!!! Mine obviously are not doing this yet, but Jackson is really starting to express himself in regards to his siblings and it melts my heart when he turns before he leaves the house to say, "I love you Kynlee, Westin, Brooklyn and Gage." Or when he just randomly tells me, "Momma, I love my babies!" It just doesn't get better. I truly believe the best gift you give your kids (besides a strong marriage) is each other. There is nothing better than siblings (and sometimes nothing worse!).

Did it take long for the kids to use the Muchie Mugs? My triplets are almost 19 months and still enjoy throwing their snacks on the floor from a bowl. These mugs look like a great idea!
As always, I love seeing your videos! Thanks for sharing =)

Triple Threat: I've had the Munchie Mugs for ages, and the kids figured them out right away. But I actually didn't use them regularly until a couple of months ago because they loved to just grab all the snacks and drop them on the floor for fun. Now that they are more "mature," they know that if they take a snack out, they better be putting it in their mouth, ha! I highly recommend these mugs ... they have big capacity, are spill proof, and are dishwasher safe. :)
