One week down

Things have quickly settled into a monotony around here, which is why I have not posted an update since moving into my sweet pad. My contractions seem to go through cycles, at times stopping almost entirely for hours on end, only to start picking up again the minute the doctor implies that he might take me off the magnesium sulfate. I am very fortunate, however, in that the dreaded mag has spared me its worst side effects; my only complaints so far have been a dry mouth and fatigue (Ted would add that I must also feel very hot because the room is "freezing" but I feel totally comfortable). In fact, I am feeling well enough that I wouldn't mind taking a few phone calls (hint, hint!). The prospect of being here for several more weeks is admittedly starting to bum me out, but I just keep reminding myself that anything I can do to keep my babies from being born too early is worth it. We're only 12 days away from the 28-week mark!

Hey Suzy,

I'm so happy you posted. Whenever you go a while without posting I get worried. Hang in there. 12 days is nothing--you can do it!

Hi Suzy,

I'm so glad to hear you're tolerating the mag well and things are under control. I also nearly froze Tim out of my room when I was on it - totally normal! Twelve days... you are so close! I'm looking forward to celebrating that 28-week milestone with you.

Glad to see you and the babies are still ok. I check on here daily to see if you've updated. :-) I like hearing that everything is going smoothly. We're actually going to be in Indy this weekend. I know you can't have visitors, so we'll just send you our good wishes and hopefully next time we're down in Indy it'll be to visit you AT HOME with your 4 sweet babies to love on. :-)

I'm so glad to hear things are just monotonous! That's good news at this point. I'm still praying for you all the time and am glad you are getting some rest before the rest of the newest Thompsons arrive.

Ted, get a sweater or a blanket.

Ah, Monotonous days. It will drive you batty, but it is exactly what you need. When I was on Mag everyone wore their winter coats in my room. I couldn't understand why, because I was still overheating. I entered my hospital stay at 25 weeks and made it to 29 and 4 days and I have now 3 incredibly healthy almost 3 year olds. You are at a great hospital and have a great doctor. (But don't tell him I said so. I don't want him to get a big head) Tick-Tock. It is almost midnight...1 day down, 11 to go.

Suzy,
Keep up the good work! It is hard to believe now but your time in the hospital will be a distant memory in just a few short months - just revel in the fact that you are in good hands, being monitored and don't have to go through the "what if's" and questions of how the babies are doing as you would at home.
Thinking of you!

Great news! I am praying for you constantly! Benjamin prays for you every night too. He said, "Help Suzy's babies to come out so I can play with them. I want to teach them to talk." I told him that we don't want to pray for them to come out yet! Ha!
Keep up the good work! You can do it. Love ya!

Congrats on another week! I remember the hot flashes and the boredom all too well.
