A week ago, my cousin Glenda moved in to help take care of the babies over the summer. She's been helping us every Friday since January, so she knows a lot of the ins and outs of how we run things around here. She had yet to see me prepare formula, though, so her expression was priceless when she walked into the kitchen on her first night here and saw me mixing this:
Being first-time parents, Ted and I sometimes forget that we're "different." We just don't know any better until someone points out the freakish amount of [insert baby item here] that we own/use. More examples:
I personally love the bowl of pacifiers on the table. having just one at a time I have been tempted to do that. I can only imagine how much more you would need a bowl of paci's handy. Very clever idea. And I love that the bowl (and the fridge) is organized and labeled. Clever. Very clever. :)
ReplyDeleteYour organization never ceases to amaze me. I would be in BIG trouble if I were in your shoes!! You guys rock! :)
ReplyDeleteOh I love the bowl of pacifiers! That is hilarious!!
ReplyDeleteVery organized girl!!! (I guess you kind of have to be! lol)
I love the labels!! I wonder if you were always this organized, or if the babies forced you to be?
ReplyDeleteSuzy, I love your organizational skills!! You are a REAL Super Mommy!! :o) I am so glad that Glenda is there to help you out.
ReplyDeleteps-I really like the pink binkies! Maybe if Miss Lila wants to use a binky someday, I will order those. Although I think she's going to be another thumb sucker...only time will tell. :)
WOW. I like this blog a lot; it really gives me an idea of what you go through. I did 6 loads of laundry today and that is only from one kid. I can't imagine...I can't believe all the bibs! And the diapers, whoa!
ReplyDeleteI only have 1 baby yet find myself always losing the precious pacifier! I started leaving one in the co-sleeper, one in the car seat, one in the swing, one in the bouncer...you get the idea! I like your divided basket! Very organized!! (I found your blog through my friend Jen M....and I love that you share your beautiful children with us!)
ReplyDeleteYou need to start a business organizing homes. I'd hire you in a heartbeat! And who knew pacis came in such fashion colors?
ReplyDeleteYou are so organized. I love reading your blog. What kind of pacifiers are those?
ReplyDeleteWe use the Gumdrop pacifiers that the hospital used. Conveniently for me, they come in four colors. I think they are made by the same people as the Soothies but have a more contoured shape. We love them because they are one piece ... they aren't going to fall apart and are so easy to wash. You can get them online from Hawaii Medical (just google it). :)
ReplyDelete(Thanks for the recommendation, Heather!)
a woman after my own heart!
ReplyDeleteI love to be organised ....you should see my children's wardrobes...their clothing is hung and shelves have baskets that are labelled...clothes for the middle two are labelled {I do this NOT because I am obsessive but so others can pack away their clothes!! {sneaky huh}
Susan :):)
Love this posting! Really brings it home. I wish I lived closer than Los Angeles. As a big sister to five, I learned how to change diapers before I could read, in the days when that involved cloth diapers that had to be folded to the right shape and size, 3-inch safety pins, and rubber pants. I'm sure I could make myself useful.
ReplyDeleteI.LOVE.THE.PACIFIER idea :) WoW...that is so cool!

Love the bowl of paci's..that is very sweet :)
ReplyDeleteGenius! You make having quads look easy . ;-) The colorful pacifiers sure do look pretty!!
ReplyDeleteSuzy,
ReplyDeleteI have a couple samples of the Similac formula you use, that I won't be needing. If you email me your address, and your married last name too...than I can get them sent to you. I have a Soy one too, but doubt that you would able to use it.
