From the beginning of this pregnancy, I've maintained that a birthdate "anytime in December" would be swell. Well, folks, we made it! Even the usually pessimistic Dr. E showed enthusiasm regarding reaching the 30-week milestone this morning—imagine what he'll be like on the off chance that I actually earn the A+ he promised me if I can last 2 more weeks!
In other exciting news, the babies were finally measured again today (after 3 long weeks of waiting). All of them were practicing their breathing during the ultrasound (yes!), and their estimated weights were exactly what we were hoping for: They are all over 3 pounds, with just a few ounces of difference between them. (According to the neonatologist, crossing the 3-pound threshold prior to premature delivery decreases the likelihood of severe problems after birth.) With more than 13 pounds of baby to support, though, it's no wonder that my back is beginning to protest; hopefully, both it and my ever-contracting uterus can hold out for another week or two.
You know, it's a good thing that Ted and I finally settled on some names last night because there's no doubt about it: Baby time is drawing nigh—it's exciting and terrifying at the same time!
Yay for Suzy! I'm so excited to hear that the babies are all over 3 pounds....that is a HUGE milestone! Keep plugging along for the A+!!!! Besos...Julieta

ReplyDeleteWhat great news Suzy!!! 3 pounds each, wow. Keep calm and smiling... it makes all the difference!! I had to do 2 weeks of bedrest with Maggie and it was TORTURE with one child, so I can't even imagine what it's like for you... brave mama... God bless you and the babies, I'm praying for you, all my love, Sonia & family

That's such great news! Sounds like everything is going really smoothly and the babies are thriving. I'm sure it's getting a little nerve-wracking as you get closer to delivering, but I did it three times and I'm a wuss! You can do it and you'll be fantastic! Just look at how incredibly you've handled it all so far. Plus, once you see those sweet babies, all fears will melt away. Can't wait to hear what names you guys have picked out. Oh, and can I say how fantastic you look? I was only carrying one at a time and didn't look nearly as great as you do with 4! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh wow!!! Well, I say, you get an A+++ in my book!!
ReplyDeleteSuzy! This is such wonderful news. I'm so happy for you and will be praying as well.
ReplyDeleteMuch love,
Crystal
Congrats Suzy. Three pounds each --great weights for quads. I think you already deserve that A+!
ReplyDeleteChristy
Suzy,
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to hear how well you are doing. Tell the doc to just Let It Be and you will get your A+.
Sincerely,
Paul Mc (for the Beatles)
YAY!!! I have nod doubt you will get an A+, regardless of whether you make it to 32 weeks already. You've earned major extra credit already by getting them each to 3 pounds and handling all of this with such grace. I am thrilled to hear your news. My computer died yesterday, so I haven't been online and one of my major concerns has been how you and your babies are doing! Keep up the great work, mama!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah! So happy to hear that all of you are doing well. Give each one an extra squeeze from Aunt Becky.
ReplyDeleteSuzy,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you have been able to keep those babies in there this long!! See how well-behaved they must be! That will make it much easier when they come out! HA! Anyway, you continue to be in our prayers!
Lots of love, Tammy
Suzy, I am so happy for you! That is great news. I am praying for 2 more weeks and an A+. I know you can do it. You are awesome MOMMY!!!! Love ya, Charisa
ReplyDeleteHey Suzy!! Way to strive for that perfect GPA!! ;) You're doing awesome. And hey, if you need another boy name, feel free to use Ferdinand. We can always come up with something else!
ReplyDeleteGreat news Suzy. We will be standing by. Amanda had Carter James last night at 6:33 pm. 2 Dec. 18 hours of labor and he came in at 6 pounds 8 oz, 20 inches. They come home tomorrow (Thursday) She can't wait to talk to you in a few days! We are all praying for your few days of waiting that remain. MattW
ReplyDeleteWhat great news!! Isn't it just like a Type A personality to need the motivation of an "A" grade?! I can definitely relate. :) Keep at it, you can do it! Love ya, Molly
